It’s an incredible feeling to write this:
🥈 I won a silver medal at the home World Cup!
The Budapest World Cup was truly an unforgettable competition for me. I already felt in good form during the qualifiers and the semifinals, but it was really in the final where I managed to show what I am capable of.
In fencing, I was able to deliver a very consistent performance throughout, both in the ranking round and the knockout stage. In the latter, I fought my way all the way to the final round. Thanks to this result, I was able to start the remaining disciplines from second place.
On the obstacle course, I gave everything I had, maintaining my second position, which gave me huge momentum for the rest of the competition.
Although I left 1–2 seconds on the table in the swimming event, overall it helped me keep a favorable position — still starting the laser run from second place.
The highlight of the competition was definitely the laser run. My shooting went well, and I had enough strength left in my running to take the lead after two laps. Although the final victory went to last year’s junior world champion, Moutaz Mohamed, I had nothing to be ashamed of.
In the final shooting and running stages, I managed to stay among the leaders, but the Frenchman Ugo Fleurot eventually moved ahead of me. In the final straight — with the amazing home crowd roaring behind me — I launched an all-out sprint to catch up with him, and we crossed the finish line almost side by side.
We waited for long minutes for the photo finish to be analyzed, and in the end — by just a hair — I was declared the second-place finisher!
It is an incredible joy for me to stand on the podium once again after Cairo — this time at home, in Budapest. Two World Cups, two silver medals! 😎🔥
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who supported, cheered, and believed in me. This silver medal is not only my achievement, but also the success of everyone who has been with me along this journey.
Let’s keep pushing forward! 🇭🇺
