The competition took place on May 23–24: fencing on Friday at the Gerevich Fencing Hall, and the remaining events on Saturday in Pestszentlőrinc, at the Vilmos Endre Sports Center. Every moment of this event will remain unforgettable to me. After fencing, I managed to take the lead on the OCR course with my personal best, held on to the advantage in swimming, and started the final Laser-Run with a 10-second head start – which I managed to maintain all the way to the finish line.
What makes this even more special is that it wasn’t just about me: my long-time friend and training partner, Ricsi Bereczki, delivered an excellent performance and earned the bronze medal, while Zsombor Pataki, despite his young age, stood his ground against the senior field – and together, we claimed the team gold as well. This victory, like all others before, is the result of a fantastic team effort: without the support of my coaches, training partners, family, and of course, my sponsors, none of this would have been possible.
The alternating men’s and women’s events throughout the day made the competition even more exciting in my opinion. I was holding my breath as I watched Michelle and Blanka battle neck-and-neck – it was incredible to witness.
This championship marks a new chapter in the club’s history, and I’m extremely grateful to be part of it – even more so to all those who continue to support me along the way.
Next stops: World Cup Final, European Championships, then the World Championships! A tough summer lies ahead, but with this momentum and such a strong support system, I’m looking forward with great hope.
Thank you, Csepel – this championship gold belongs to all of us!
Go Csepel!
